Her hair is difficult because it is fine and wispy and doesn't work well without the braids she had as a child. Of course she is white. Yet. I am so intrigued and excited by the idea that she might be bi-racial. I think, in 2016, it explains her outsider-ness, her feelings of awkwardness and inferiority, so well. And that isn't to say that the Meg we geeky white girls related to growing up isn't true, I just think it expands it.
